Get ready! Honda's electric scooter is coming to India, know when it will be launched

 

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is preparing to launch its first electric scooter in the Indian market. According to media reports, the company is working on this upcoming electric scooter with its dealer-partner. It is believed that this electric scooter can be introduced in the market by the next financial year.

 HMSI President, MD and CEO Atsushi Ogata said in a statement to the media that, the company has decided to enter the electric vehicle market after detailed discussions with parent Honda Motor Company, Japan. However, the basic model of this electric scooter is yet to be finalised.

The company believes that the Indian market is very suitable for electric vehicles, because the government's electric vehicle policy is encouraging people here. Ogata elaborated that while two-wheeler riders have started using electric vehicles for shorter commutes in cities, petrol vehicles are still being used for longer distances and in rural areas.

The demand for electric vehicles has increased rapidly in the Indian market in the last one year.  Companies like Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors and now Ola Electric have launched their electric scooters in the market.  Now waiting for the entry of Hero MotoCorp and Honda TwoWheelers India, it was being discussed for a long time that when these two companies will announce their electric vehicles.  There is no doubt that these Honda
